FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is FIRST’s newest competition, designed to bridge the gap between FIRST Lego League and FIRST Robotics Competition. Teams of up to 10 members are challenged to build 18”x18”x18” robots out of a specified kit to compete on a 12’x12’ field. Robots are programmed using C to automatically run for 20 seconds and then respond to human controls for 2 minutes. MSJ has four teams, three of which are part of the Tech and Robotics Club. Two teams from MSJ, Geek Squad (not official club members) and Pewpewlazerbeams, have gone on to compete at the FTC International Competition.
